Azerbaijan to renovate 217 houses Girmizi Bazar settlement of Khojavend this year

A media tour was organized to the Girmizi Bazar settlement of the Khojavend district, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

Media representatives were provided with information about the settlement.

It was noted that Girmizi Bazar, one of the well-known residential areas of the Karabakh region with an important strategic and geographical location, came under the control of Azerbaijan as a result of the anti-terror operation by Azerbaijan's Armed Forces in 2023. Since then, electricity and gas lines, as well as an artesian well, have been restored in the settlement; the metering process has begun; 2 transformers have been installed; 3 water reservoirs have been repaired; and a natural gas pipeline over 11 kilometers long has been laid. Currently, public and domestic facilities, as well as a production workshop, are operating in the Girmizi Bazar settlement.

Leyla Sarabi, press secretary of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, told journalists that there are 300 individual houses in the settlement, of which 71 are uninhabitable and 229 are partially habitable. Ten houses are already ready for use. In total, 217 individual houses will be restored by the end of 2025, and 12 more in 2026.

Currently, 10 families (39 people) have returned to the settlement.

President Ilham Aliyev visited the Girmizi Bazar settlement of the Khojavend district on September 14.
