Russia prevents planned explosion on the Crimean Bridge

Employees of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) have prevented an explosion on the Crimean Bridge, Russian FSB said, APA reports.

The report says that the explosive device was hidden in a Chevrolet Volt car, which had been transported from Ukraine to Russia via a transit route.

It is noted that the vehicle crossed the “Upper Lars” checkpoint on the Russia–Georgia border.

The statement adds that in the Krasnodar region, the car was supposed to be handed over to a driver to be taken to Crimea.

It was emphasized that “Ukraine had planned to use the car as a kamikaze vehicle.”

The explosive device was neutralized.

The individuals who brought the car loaded with explosives into Russia have been detained.
