Georgia’s President Kavelashvili to visit Türkiye for talks on strategic partnership

Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili will pay an official visit to Türkiye on August 12-13 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced Saturday, APA reports citing Türkiye Today.

In a post on social media, Duran said the visit will focus on steps to further enhance cooperation with Türkiye’s strategic partner Georgia, along with discussions on current regional and global developments.

The visit is expected to inject new momentum into the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Türkiye and Georgia. Türkiye was among the first countries to recognize Georgia’s independence, and since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, the two neighbors have developed strong political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
