In the period from January to July 2025, industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs operating in this field produced industrial products worth AZN 36.6 billion, or 2.3 percent less compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, production in the oil and gas sector decreased by 3.5 percent, while in the non-oil and gas sector it increased by 5.5 percent.
61.5 percent of the industrial products were produced in the mining sector, 32.0 percent in the manufacturing sector, 5.5 percent in the electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply sector, and 1.0 percent in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector.
In the mining sector, the production of marketable oil decreased by 5.4 percent, while the production of marketable gas increased by 0.2 percent.
In the manufacturing sector, the production of wood processing and wood products increased by 88.2 percent, pharmaceutical products by 81.3 percent, textile industry products by 27.5 percent, chemical industry products by 10.7 percent, food products by 10.6 percent, machinery and equipment by 10.6 percent, tobacco products by 8.1 percent, rubber and plastic mass products by 5.3 percent, petroleum products by 1.4 percent; production of beverages decreased by 1.2 percent, furniture by 5.2 percent, construction materials by 5.8 percent, finished metal products by 10.4 percent, metallurgical industry products by 12.0 percent, electrical equipment by 12.2 percent, automobile, trailer, and semi-trailer production by 12.7 percent, machinery and equipment installation and repair works by 16.8 percent, computer, electronic and optical products by 20.0 percent, leather and leather products and footwear by 20.3 percent, paper and cardboard production by 24.6 percent, printing products by 28.1 percent, while clothing production decreased by 38.3 percent.
In the electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply sector, production volume increased by 2.5 percent, and in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector, it increased by 4.7 percent.
