"It is important to consider Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union’s single customs territory, especially regarding the organization of transit cargo transportation through the republic’s territory," Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said while commenting on the Washington agreement, APA reports.
“Also, one cannot overlook the fact that Armenia’s border with Iran is guarded by Russian border guards based on the interstate agreement dated September 30, 1992,” she added.
