Russia is interested in establishing a zone of stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus, said Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
According to her, one of the most important conditions is the comprehensive normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on the interests of the peoples of both countries.
“We consistently support all efforts that help achieve this fundamental goal for regional security. In this regard, the meeting of the leaders of the South Caucasus republics in Washington, mediated by the American side, deserves a positive assessment,” the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
