On August 2-3, 2025, the National Cup of Arm Wrestling among cadets, youth, adults, masters and veterans, dedicated to the dear memory of the martyrs, was held at the Absheron Olympic Complex, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
About 500 athletes from various cities, districts, and sports societies of the republic in various weight categories fought determinedly and tested their strength. Members of the arm wrestling team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations participating in the competition managed to achieve high achievements. Thus, Major Rashad Kasemanli, an employee of the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, won the gold medal in the right and left arm matches in the 63 kg weight category, defeating all his rivals. Other members of the team - Major Rashad Hajiyev, an employee of the Sumgayit Regional Center, won gold in the left arm in the 105 kg weight category, silver in the right arm, and internal service sergeant Sanan Shukurov, an employee of the State Fire Protection Service, won a gold medal in the left arm in the 86 kg weight category.
The winners were awarded diplomas and medals from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
On August 5, 2025, Colonel Fuzuli Musayev, the head of the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, met with the employees who achieved success in the national cup, congratulated them, and wished them success in future competitions.
Note that three members of the team qualified for the World Arm Wrestling Championship to be held in Baku in October.
