"Türkiye Without Terrorism" commission begins work in Turkish Grand National Assembly

The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) held the first meeting of the newly established commission aimed at a “Türkiye Without Terrorism,” APA reports.

Speaking at the opening, GNAT Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stated that the country has entered a new phase in its half-century-long fight against terrorism.

Kurtulmuş emphasized that the silencing of weapons and the cessation of the activities of terrorist organizations are the result of the direct will of the people, not of any political entity. He noted that this process is of decisive importance for the peace and stability of both Türkiye and the region.

Stating that the principles of the commission's activities will be "transparency and openness", Kurtulmuş announced that academics, lawyers, NGOs, and public representatives will also be involved in the process.

“This table is built on the conscience of the people. We will work together for a democratic Türkiye where everyone feels included,” the GNAT Speaker noted.
