On July 16, the State Border Service’s “Goytepe” border unit prevented the transfer of a large quantity of narcotics from the Islamic Republic of Iran to The border outpost immediately activated the “Arms!” command, closed the service area, and conducted a border search.
As a result of urgent operational and military measures, a “Hyundai” vehicle with license plate 77-RA-376, attempting to flee the scene, was stopped with the help of local residents. A search of the vehicle revealed 12.6 kilograms of marijuana, which was confiscated.
Initial interrogation identified the detained individuals as Agshin Ilgar Shahtakhtinski, born in 1998 and a resident of Baku city, and Rinad Aladdin Aliyev, born in 2003 and a resident of Fuzuli district. They confessed to the crime and stated they came to the area to collect the narcotics.
