"A total of 2,042 people have been held criminally responsible for the illegal circulation of narcotics. Among them, 44 are foreign nationals," APA reports citing the January-May 2025 report of the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
It was noted that from foreign nationals, a total of 447 kg, 208.684 grams of various types of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were seized.
Law enforcement agencies uncovered 101 cases related to the smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into the country, based on these facts, a total weight of 1 ton 196 kg 338 g and 5,183 methadone pills, a narcotic drug and psychotropic substance, and 13,194 pills of a powerful substance were confiscated from illegal circulation.
Overall, the detected crimes were committed in 110 organized groups, and a total of 1 ton 62 kg 775.163 grams of illegal substances were seized in these cases.
