Vahid Hajiyev: Building thousands of homes is far more complex than one

In the post-conflict period, the state must act flexibly and in a coordinated manner to ensure the return of thousands of people, Vahid Hajiyev, the Special Representative of the President in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, said at an event titled "In Search of Best Solutions for Sustainable Housing and Resilient Cities: Voices of Cities," held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Olaylar informs.

He noted that considering that even the construction or repair of a single house takes a long time, the complexity of simultaneously building thousands of houses, as well as schools, hospitals, road and railway infrastructure, becomes clearly evident: "The people waiting to return do not have time. They want to return to their homeland as soon as possible. For this reason, the government must make prompt decisions and carry out the entire process within a unified coordination framework. We have established an institutional framework that brings all state agencies together on a single platform. This system allows for joint analysis of where and how cities and villages will be built."

The Special Representative of the President added that Azerbaijan has been applying precisely this approach in the liberated territories in recent years.
