Azerbaijan has successfully organized the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Italy’s Deputy Minister for Environment and Energy Security Claudio Barbaro said during the ministers’ meeting on the New Urban Agenda organized within the framework of WUF13 held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He thanked the Azerbaijani government for organizing the forum at a high level.
According to the deputy minister, the local implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is one of the key priorities of sustainable development.
Claudio Barbaro noted that the integration of national and local voluntary reports is of great importance in terms of aligning policies at the local, national, and global levels.
“Within the framework of the midterm review of the New Urban Agenda, we must strengthen multilevel governance, accelerate the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, and ensure policy coherence,” he emphasized.
