The WUF13 agenda is highly relevant and timely, a Kenyan representative said during the ministers’ meeting held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
“Kenya attaches great importance to international cooperation in advancing sustainable urban development. We also recognize that UN-Habitat provides significant support to member states and subnational governments in responding to evolving urban challenges. Therefore, the agenda before us is highly relevant, as it provides a timely opportunity to assess progress, identify challenges, and help shape the next phase of implementation.
Kenya was the first country to present a people-centered version of the New Urban Agenda. Considering that only 10 years remain until the completion of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda, I hope today’s discussions will focus on practical solutions, mutual learning, and cooperation.
Your participation today plays an important role in shaping the draft action-oriented political declaration, which will ultimately be adopted by the United Nations,” the Kenyan representative said.
