Azerbaijan is successfully hosting an important global event such as WUF13, Malaysia’s Minister of Housing and Local Government and current President of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Assembly, Nga Kor Ming, told journalists within the framework of the WUF13 – World Urban Forum held in Baku, APA reports.
He congratulated Azerbaijan on this occasion.
“Azerbaijan has successfully organized this important global gathering. This forum is an important platform that brings together local government leaders, urban planning experts, and policymakers,” Nga Kor Ming noted.
According to him, the main theme of the forum is “Housing for All: Building Sustainable and Resilient Cities.”
“Urbanization is progressing rapidly around the world, and during this process it is important that no person and no place is left behind,” he emphasized.
Nga Kor Ming stated that affordable and accessible housing constitutes the main agenda of WUF13.
“A home is not only a shelter, but also a place where people’s hopes and dreams come true. Quality housing must be affordable, accessible, connected to transport and services, and supported by a dignified community environment,” he added.
According to him, only when these principles are ensured can cities truly belong to everyone.
