Secretary General: OTS has expanded its activities

“Within the framework of the OTS, an informal summit of leaders will be held in Turkistan on May 15, as well as meetings of security council secretaries and defense industry ministers," said Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev at the meeting of prime ministers of the OTS member states held in Baku, APA reports.

He noted that these meetings will further strengthen coordination in political views.

The OTS Secretary General also touched upon the importance of the OTS+ format. He stated that in recent years, the Organization of Turkic States has expanded the scope of its activities: “Currently, we are applying cooperation mechanisms in 58 different areas. At the same time, we pay special attention to the proper implementation of important decisions adopted by heads of state at summit meetings. This platform is an opportunity to review the progress achieved and accelerate the process. Today, instability is emerging in many places.”

The Secretary General noted that OTS member states have begun negotiations on an important agreement in the field of investments: “In fact, this initiative was put forward by Kazakhstan. Although some member states belong to the Eurasian space, this cannot hinder integration within the Turkic states. In this regard, we rely on Kazakhstan’s support to reach a consensus in this area. We also call on Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye to complete the ratification of the partnership agreement in the digital economy. Once this agreement enters into force, digital trust in the region will increase, and at the same time, e-commerce will significantly expand.”
