Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that snap parliamentary elections will be held in 2026 and stated that the authorities have met the key demand of protesters, APA reports.
"We have accepted their main demand – soon, next year, we will go to the elections," Vučić said, speaking to citizens outside the parliament building in Belgrade.
The head of state is convinced that snap elections will be a political response to the protesters' actions. "But they won't be so happy when the votes are counted. We will defeat them in every place in Serbia," he emphasized.
