ANAMA employee injured in mine explosion near Armenia border in Gazakh

A mine incident occurred on November 17 in the village of Bala Jafarli in the Gazakh district, located near the border with Armenia, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said in a statement, APA reports.

"An agency employee, Samir Imamverdiyev, born in 1988, was performing his official duties when an anti-personnel mine exploded. As a result of the incident, the employee’s right leg was amputated at the heel.

Imamverdiyev was evacuated to the district central hospital. His condition is satisfactory, and there is no life-threatening danger," the statement reads.
