Six people have died in what officials are describing as a “dairy accident” at a farm in Weld County, Colorado.
Emergency crews were called to Prospect Valley Dairy near Keenesburg on Wednesday evening for a “confined space rescue,” the Southeast Weld Fire Protection District confirmed. When they arrived, rescuers recovered the bodies of six individuals.
The Weld County Coroner’s Office said the victims—five adults and possibly one 17-year-old—were likely exposed to toxic gas. All were men. Their identities have not yet been released.
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene. Authorities said there was no indication of criminal activity, though the incident remains under investigation.
