Fires that broke out in the mountainous terrain with complex relief near the Chorekli and Yemishjanli villages of the Khojavand district have been contained by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, preventing their spread to surrounding areas despite hot and windy weather conditions, APA reports citing Ministry’s Press Service.
Operations to fully extinguish the fires are currently ongoing.
In addition, firefighting efforts continue without interruption in open areas near the Ortakend and Sugovushan villages of the Aghdara district, as well as in the city of Zangilan.
It should be noted that forces of the State Fire Protection Service and helicopters of the Aviation Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in the firefighting operations.
