Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi has received an invitation from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to attend the opening of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Olaylar informs referring to the Yemeni newspaper Al-Ayyam.
The invitation was conveyed by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev at a meeting with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Zindani. The parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East.
The head of the Foreign Ministry of the internationally recognized government of Yemen spoke about the difficulties in achieving peace in the country due to the ongoing attacks by the Houthis, which pose a threat to regional security and international shipping.
The Azerbaijani ambassador expressed interest in strengthening bilateral relations and supporting efforts to achieve stability in Yemen.
