Three supporters of the “Sacred Struggle” movement, led by recently arrested priest Bagrat Galstanyan, were detained during a protest in central Yerevan, local media reported.
The activists had reportedly unfurled a banner reading “Freedom for political prisoners” on a bridge in the city.
Galstanyan and several allies were arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting an armed seizure of power. Authorities claimed to have found incendiary devices during searches, allegedly intended to damage power lines and internet infrastructure.
