Sale, use of pyrotechnic devices banned in Istanbul due to forest fires

 

The sale and use of fireworks and other flammable pyrotechnic devices have been banned in Istanbul, Türkiye, due to forest fires, according to the statement by the Istanbul governorate, Olaylar informs via TRT Haber.

The ban will remain in effect for three months.

"As part of forest fire prevention measures, entry to forested areas had been prohibited from June 23 to October 15. Additionally, the sale and use of fireworks, signal flares, torches, and other explosive-flammable materials in Istanbul have been banned from July 29, 2025, to October 28," reads the statement.

Legal measures will be taken against businesses and individuals who do not comply with the ban.
