On July 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the destroyed areas of Fuzuli, APA reports.
The guest got acquainted with the Master Plan of the city.
Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts Emin Huseynov informed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the destruction and acts of vandalism committed in the territory of the Fuzuli district during the 30-year occupation, as well as the work carried out and to be done in accordance with the Master Plan of the city.
The once densely populated and prosperous city of Fuzuli was completely plundered and devastated during the Armenian occupation. After our lands were liberated from occupation, the Master Plan of the city of Fuzuli was developed in a short time, approved by President Ilham Aliyev and presented to the public in 2021. Fuzuli, which has great transport and logistics potential, is located at the intersection of the main transport arteries of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. The total area of Fuzuli city is approximately 1942 hectares. According to the master plan, 50 thousand people are expected to live in the city by 2040. The Fuzuli Memorial Complex, which will include the Occupation and Victory museums, will be created in Fuzuli, the Kurmangazy Creativity Center will be built, a city hospital will be built, a City Park will be created, and large-scale landscaping and greening works will be carried out. According to the master plan, social infrastructure facilities such as kindergartens and schools will be located at a distance of 300 and 500 meters, respectively. As a result of the work to be done, the city of Fuzuli, which will be built in accordance with modern standards and architectural features, will become one of the largest cities in the liberated territories. The Smart City concept will be applied here. The administrative center of Fuzuli city, which will cover an area of more than 12 hectares, will be divided into 3 parts.
