Political consultations held between Azerbaijan and Germany

Next round of Political Consultations held between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Germany in Berlin, MFA told APA.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the German delegation was headed by Konrad Arz von Straussenburg, the Federal Foreign Office’s Special Representative for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

During the consultations, the current state of political relations between the two countries was discussed. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining a continuous political dialogue through mutual visits and meetings on the sidelines of international events.

The discussions also covered the current status and future prospects of cooperation in economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian fields, as well as within international organizations. The sides exchanged views on strategic energy and transport projects initiated and implemented with Azerbaijan’s participation. Ongoing projects in the field of humanitarian mine clearance were also addressed.

The meeting included a detailed exchange on the post-conflict situation in the region, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish lasting peace in the region, encountered obstacles, and large-scale reconstruction and development efforts underway in the liberated territories.

As part of the visit, Fariz Rzayev also held business meetings with several other senior German officials and participated in roundtable discussions with representatives of leading think tanks and research institutions.
